Atiku takes campaign to Diaspora Nigerians in South Africa

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, will be meeting with Nigerians in Diaspora living in South Africa as part of his campaign.
The Chairman of Atikunation South Africa, Funsho Ademoye, made this known at a news briefing in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Pointing out that Abubakar believes in restructuring of the country and has respect for the rule of law, Ademoye said the PDP flag bearer would share details of his political manifesto for the 2019 election with Nigerians in the Diaspora in his address to a select gathering at the South Africa Institute of International Affairs, Johannesburg.
The meeting is scheduled for November 28, 2018.
Ademoye, through the association’s Secretary, Rotimi Iyanda, said the outcome of the meeting held in October with the PDP South Africa and other Diaspora support groups underlined the need for all to work together and make Nigeria work again.
At the meeting held in Randburg with other Diaspora support groups, the PDP South Africa Chairman, Ekos Akpokabayen, said the need to support Abubakar was based on the fact that he is a seasoned politician who possesses the needed maturity, patience and wisdom to keep the country united.
According to Ademoye, the rate of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria is very worrisome and that this stark reality only goes to show that Nigeria now needs a leader that can salvage the economy and bring it back from the brink of collapse.
He said the Buhari Administration had failed Nigerians woefully and that Nigerians deserve a much better deal.
He said that the current state of affairs in the country had become a major source of concern for Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora given the negative effects not just on the citizens but on other African nations.
Ademoye had during his recent visit to Nigeria met with the Director-General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and other organizations, interest groups and individuals committed to good governance and exemplary leadership in Africa, starting from Nigeria.
He also visited the APCO in Abuja where he had meeting with the Deputy Director Support Groups, Ola Fabiyi; Barrister Dayo Ogunjebe, who also is the House of Representatives PDP candidate representing Mushin Constituency 1; and Atikunation ICG Director General, Hon. Fateema Muhammed, amongst others.
Ademoye, who is also the Coordinator of Africa Diaspora Mobilisation Movement, said the experience of African citizens in Diaspora has awakened their interest in ensuring good governance across Africa and in their respective countries of origin.
