Association commends FG on N-Power programme

The Sandamu Local Government Development Association has lauded the efforts of Federal Government on the introduction of N-Power Programme.
Alhaji Usman Na-Lado (matawallen Sandamu) and chairman of the association made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria NAN in Sandamu on Wednesday.
He said 250 unemployed youths had been gainfully registered into the N-power programme and they had since begun enjoying the financial aspect of the programme.
He said about 70 per cent of those registered were university and polytechnic graduates, stressing the programme had seriously reduced the ugly trend of redundancy and indolence among the youth.
Nalado, who doubles as chairman of the local chapter of the Rice Farmers Association, also commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the introduction of the anchor borrower programme, stressing 2,400 farmers benefited from the programme.
He added that the Federal Government had made a remarkable achievements in terms of security especially in the Northeast, saying the hitherto instances of the insurgents taking over a community was over.
He urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the success of the Federal Government on its efforts to transform the nation as well as the ongoing anti-corruption campaign.
Similarly, Nalado also lauded the efforts of the Katsina State government on the introduction of its empowerment programme tagged S-Power under which 10’000 youths would be registered as teachers and other relevant skills.
He said state government had recently distributed 100 tractors as loan to farmers to boost food production adding that Governor Aminu Masari was determined to transform Katsina state through development of entrepreneurial skills.
He described the regular payment of salaries and other entitlements of both active and retired civil servants as commendable.
He said in spite of the bailout and the Paris club fund collected some governors were yet to settle the backlog of workers’ salaries.
Nalado said: “Peace and security had been restored especially in the areas characterised by armed banditry and cattle rustling in the state.”
He emphasised that the youth in his area were ready and determined to support the reelection bids of president Buhari and Governor Masari in 2019.
