Arsenal FC dismiss Iwobi’s injury worry

Arsenal Football Club on Wednesday dismissed worries about Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi, saying it was not true that the Super Eagles’ player was injured.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the striker had posted a picture of a bandaged foot on Snap chat, raising doubts about his state of fitness.
However, the club, while reacting on its Twitter page, said: “Alex Iwobi is not injured.”
It also said Iwobi and other players, including Egypt’s Mohamed Elneny and Laurent Koscielny, would resume training this week.
The club said: “Elneny is due for a scan on the ankle injury he suffered in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Sutton United in the FA Cup fifth round.
“Both Koscielny, who was substituted because of a thigh injury in the defeat to Bayern Munich last week, and Iwobi are due back in training this week.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Gunners are currently fourth on the English Premier League table.
Arsenal will face fifth-placed Liverpool next on March 4, before taking on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last 16 second leg at the Emirates Stadium on March 7.
