Governor Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara on Saturday urged newly elected leaders of the APC at local governments and wards levels in the state to work in the interest of the party.
Yari made the call on Saturday in his home town, Talata-Mafara while addressing the newly elected leaders of the party in Talata-Mafara local government area of the state.
He said: “I am using this medium to call on all elected APC leaders across the 147 wards and the 14 local government areas of the state to work in the interest of the party.
“We should ensure unity, justice and fairness to all members of our great party, we should work base on manifesto of the APC in order to move the party forward.
“I commend the peaceful conduct of party members at both wards and state congreses, I am calling on you to give similar cooperation during the May 19 state congreses.
“The APC congresses across all the 14 local government areas of this state were conducted successfully; I commend members of our great party for their peaceful conduct at the congresses.”
News Agency of Nigeria reports that 356 delegates voted for the 27 executives of various positions of the party in Talata-Mafara local area.
