Another jobless Lagos husband slaughters wife

Another jobless Lagos husband, Jafairu Sogei, has reportedly slaughtered his wife, Rose.
This is coming on the heels of the killing of Ronke Shonde in the Egbeda area of Lagos State by her husband, Lekan, who was also reported to have had no job as at the time he killed his wife.
Sogei, according to available information, slaughtered his wife in the wee hours of Friday.
The couple have five children.
It was gathered that Sogei and his wife had dinner on Thursday night in their home and had gone to bed at their Araromi Street, Oshodi residence before the husband turned on the wife at about 1am.
He was alleged to have slit the throat of rose while he wife while she was asleep.
However, after carrying out the act, Sogei told neighbours that it was one of his sons that killed his mum.
He thereafter tried to escape.
But neighbours prevented him from fleeing.
Rose, it was learnt, is the bread winner of the family.
She was trading at the popular Ijora Market in Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Damasus Ozoani, confirmed the development.
Ozoani said the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
He said: “It is a murder case and the husband was suspected to be under the influence of drug.
“The case has been transferred to the SCID and investigation has commenced.”
