Chippa United’s Daniel Akpeyi is expected to resume training with the rest of his teammates before the end of the week.
The Nigerian international, who was in goal for Chippa against Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend, sustained a neck injury during the second half of that game.
Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Brighton Mhlongo, came on for Teboho Moloi’s side to replace Akpeyi, who was rushed to hospital as he needed immediate medical attention.
According to sources, Akpeyi’s injury is not as bad as it was first feared.
The shot-stopper, who has been impressive for Chippa this season, is expected to be ready to prepare for the team’s next game, which will be against Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on December 6.
