The remains of Prince Abubakar Audu, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kogi State, who died on Sunday, were laid to rest on Monday in Ogbonicha, his village in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, who covered the burial, reports that Audu’s remains were buried at exactly 1.32pm.
Dignitaries who attended the burial included the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; and former governors of Benue, Kano and Edo States, George Akume, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Lucky Igbinedion.
Senator Abdulrahman Abubakar. representing Kogi East Senatorial District, and several members of the National Assembly were also attendance.
The deceased, a former governor of the state, secured more votes in the election that was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday.
