The absence of defence counsel and prosecution witnesses stalled the hearing of Olisa Metuh’s case in an FCT High Court, Maitama on Thursday.
Metuh, the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, is standing trial on a three-count charge of tearing, destroying of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission documents and mischief.
He had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge, Justice Ishaq Bello, adjourned hearing till October 10 following the absence of the defence counsel and prosecution witnesses.
Nancy Okoli, who held the brief of Onyebuchi Ikpeazu (SAN) and Emeka Etiaba (SAN), lead counsel to Metuh and his company, had applied for the adjournment.
Ifeyinwa Azegbeobor, the prosecuting counsel, who did not oppose the application, had told the court that her witnesses were not able to make it to the court.
