Hosts ABS Football Club of Ilorin on Saturday walked over Kada City FC of Kaduna in a 2017/2018 Nigeria National League Match Day 17 fixture.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the match was scheduled for the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin.
NAN reports that no reason was however given for the failure of the Kaduna-based team to show up for the match.
The match officials waited till the end of the normal NNL stipulated time before the walk-over formalities were completed and the match called off.
ABS FC Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, while addressing newsmen later, said his team did not receive any information that Kada City FC would not come for the match.
He said the NNL secretariat had given the go-ahead for the match to take place as there was no official communication from Kada City FC for the game not to take place or be postponed.
He expressed disappointment that money was wasted because all the necessary apparatus was put in place for the match to take place.
NAN reports that ABS FC had won their last three games both home and away.
They were looking for their fourth consecutive win before the Match Day 17 fixture was called off.
