A female philanthropist in Jigawa State, Hajiya Sa’adatu Ahmed, died on Thursday at the age of 102 in Hadejia Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement signed by her son, Alhaji Maiunguwa Jaga, on behalf of the family and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse.
The statement said Ahmed died around 8.30am after a brief illness.
It said the deceased left behind three children and 70 grand children.
It said until her death, Ahmed was a community leader and philanthropist who was assisting orphans and other less privileged in the society.
The statement said the remains of the late philanthropist had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites at about 10am in Hadejia.
