Over 50 feared dead as Boko Haram strikes again in Borno

Over 50 persons are feared dead as Boko Haram struck in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, in two separate incidents on Tuesday.

The first was a dawn raid in which the members of Boko Haram struck as early as 1am.

Nigerian troops responded after distress calls.

Fighter jets were deployed to repel the insurgents.

But it was only a matter of hours before the dreaded sect struck again.

This time, it was with the use of a Improvised Explosive Device at the Gamboru Cattle Market.

Over 50 persons were reported dead.

No official statement has been issued as at the time of filing this report.
