The Governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, was on Friday booed at the Kure Ultra Modrn Market in Minna, the state capital, when he went to solicit for votes from traders.
The governor, who had in his company the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Alhaji Umar Nasko, was outrightly rejected by both sellers and buyers.
They chanted in Hausa: “Ba maso, changi.”
It means: “We do not want you. We want change.”
The Eagle Online gathered that the governor went to the market to campaign for the position he is vying for and also to solicit support for Nasko.
It was reliably gathered that Governor Aliyu plans to immediately after the elections on Saturday impose curfew as part of measures to curtail post elections violence.
However, the immediate past Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Area, Yakubu Salau, led a team of butchers to the house of Aliyu to apologise on behalf of traders of the Main Market.
Salau and those who went with him promised such will never happen again.
