The statue of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, at Obio/Akpor Local Government Area Headquarters in Rivers State has been destroyed by protesting youths.
The destruction of the bust of the former two-term governor of the state was carried out by the youths on Tuesday.
Wike was a former Chairman of the LGA and had the statue erected in his honour.
But the youths, who were protesting the violation of the order of the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for the chairman to vacate office after the expiration of their tenure, said there was the need to obey constituted authority.
