Eleven senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party have notified the President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, of their decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress.
A formal letter to this effect has been delivered to Mark and it is expected to be read on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday afternoon.
The APC in a statement by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, confirmed the development.
Mohammed added in the statement: “This is only the first installment of many other Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party expected to defect to the All Progressives Congress soon.”
