Delta State, Deputy Speaker and member elect representing Ndokwa East State constituency, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, has been presented with his certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission at INEC National office, Abuja.
The certificate was presented to the Deputy Speaker by Hajiah Amina Zakereh, National Commissioner of INEC, today, Tuesday 2nd of April, 2019.
INEC had, earlier, declared Osanebi; the Peoples Democratic Party House Assembly candidate for Ndokwa East, in the 2019 election, winner.
Zakereh noted that Section 75 (1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides for the issuance of certificate of return to elected candidates by the INEC; saying that, “by this event, the Commission has complied with the requirement of law in this regard”.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Speaker thanked God and his constituents for the overwhelmming support reemphasizing his commitment to double his efforts to affect more lives positively.
He thanked Ndokwa East leaders, Deltan, INEC, security agencies and all those who played different roles during the elections, observing that the election was adjudged as very peaceful in Delta State.
Osanebi who was outside the shores of Nigeria, when INEC issued certificate of return to Governor Okowa, his Deputy, Bar. Otuaro and House of Assembly members elect, told his supporters to forget whatever rumor that was circulated for his not collecting his with his colleagues, noted that he needed a time off with his family.
