Adeyemo: South West Conference of Speakers commiserates with Oyo

The South-West Chapter of Nigeria Conference of Speakers has commiserated with the Oyo State Government over the death of Hon. Michael Adeyemo, the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly.
The conference expressed its sympathy on Sunday during a condolence visit to Governor Abiola Ajimobi at the Government House in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Adeyemo, aged 47, died of heart attack in Ibadan on Friday morning.
Hon.  Najeemdeen Salam, the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, who spoke on behalf of the other Speakers, described the late Adeyemo as a good companion.
Salam stated that a chapter had been closed among conference of speakers in the region, stressing that the death of Adeyemo was too early to bear for the members.
He said: “The late Adeyemo contributed his best to humanity through adequate legislation and sustenance of peace in the state assembly.
“He prevented rancour that usually trails the executive and legislature in most democratic settings.”
He prayed to God to grant the governor the fortitude to bear the loss of a good companion inherent in Adeyemo.
NAN reports that Ajimobi, who had refrained from making any comment since the death of Adeyemo, almost betrayed his emotions while thanking the guests.
Speakers from all houses of assembly across the country are expected to attend Adeyemo’s burial on Thursday.
