Former Super Eagles’ striker, Emmanuel Emenike, and his Fenerbahce teammates escaped plane crash on their way to honour a Europa League tie against Manchester United.
The plane carrying the Fenerbahce first-team squad to Manchester was diverted after a bird flew into the cockpit window.
The Turkish giants are scheduled to face Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night, but they will now arrive in England later than planned.
After being forced to make an emergency landing in Budapest, the club posted four images of the cracked cockpit window.
The tweet said: “Kafilemizi leads to Manchester due to bird strike on the glass plane. Plane made a forced landing in Budapest. There is nothing alarming.”
The duo of former Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie and Emenike were on board during the incident.
Fenerbahce currently top Group A ahead of the game at Old Trafford.
