2019: Gov. Bello of Niger seeks second term

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger on Monday announced his intention to contest the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Bello, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Minna, said the decision was to ensure continuity of the administration’s policies and programmes.
He said it would ensure that all ongoing capital projects embarked on by the administration across the state are completed.
Abubakar said that his administration has achieved a lot in the areas of education, health care delivery, agriculture, road constructions and rural electrifications among several others.
He said: “We will continue to ensure prompt payments of workers’ salaries, renovations of primary and secondary schools across the state.”
Bello explained that the regular payment of entitlements and arrears have made Niger one of the top states that prioritised workers welfare in the country.
He said that the declaration was as a result of the intense pressure from the people of the state for him to recontest.
He called on eligible supporters of the party to participate in the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise.
He said that acquiring the permanent voters cards would ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming general election.
