No fewer than 1,274 muslims from Plateau State will be joining their counterparts across the globe to perform this year’s Hajj.
The Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Salisu Musa, told journalists at a news briefing on Wednesday that the number witnessed a shortfall of 20 per cent as against the 1,300 that perform the last year pilgrimage due to the ongoing construction work at the mosque in Mecca.
Musa also stated that the board has made every arrangement to ensure that a team of medical doctors are handy to ensure that all intending pilgrims are free from Ebola virus
On the preparation and screening exercise of the intending pilgrims, Musa said adequate accommodation and security of the Plateau State contingent has reached advance level.
Musa promised that the Plateau State contingent will soon commence the airlift of the 1,274 intending pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
