The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has joined the people of Gokana Local Government Area in thanking the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for the flag-off of the reconstruction of the Bodo and Terabor General Hospitals in the area on Thursday.
The PDP commended the Governor for not failing in fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Gokana and other parts of the State, noting that Wike has demonstrably showed that the health and life of the people is so dear and of priority to him.
The party observed that the two secondary health facilities in the area, which used to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services to the people, were neglected by the immediate past administration of Rotimi Amaechi, but with Wike’s intervention, the Gokana people can now heave a sigh of relief, with befitting healthcare, equipment and manpower in place as part of the rehabilitation efforts.
The PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah, further explained that the rehabilitation work on the hospitals came at the time the people of Ogoni are reportedly experiencing high cases of heart failure and liver related ailments as a result of years of reckless oil operation/exploration by the oil multinationals in the area.
While commending the Governor for not disappointing the party in putting smiles on the faces of all Rivers State people, not minding their political leaning, the PDP reiterated its belief that one sure way of encouraging the governor to do more is for the people to reciprocate such honest commitment to service by supporting him with their votes for all PDP candidates during the rescheduled legislative rerun elections due for December 10, 2016.
Similarly, Obuah has expressed utmost joy and satisfaction over the massive turn out of the people of Gokana in welcoming Governor Wike and his entourage to the area for the party’s campaign and flag-off of the reconstruction of the General Hospitals in the local government area.
Obuah thanked the Gokana people, particularly the elderly men and women, who came out to demonstrate their love and acceptance of the Governor and the PDP, assuring them of the continued prioritization of their healthcare needs and empowerment of their children and wards by the Governor.
He assured them that their votes for PDP candidates will never go in vain as the party is resolute in delivering all campaign promises and even more for them and the entire State, adding that Governor Wike’s development efforts so far are a tip of the iceberg, as the PDP government in the State is poised to achieve the New Rivers Vision.
