I, therefore passionately appeal to all civil servants in the State, our brothers and sisters living and doing business in the State and Rivers people to vote for all PDP candidates on Saturday, March 19, 2016, to guarantee regular payment of civil servants and pensioners’ salaries and entitlements, to guarantee continued peace and unity of Rivers State and fast-track the desired development of the State

In a statement by the Chairman of the party in the state, Bro. Felix Obuah, and signed by his Special Adviser (Media), Jerry Needam, the PDP affirmed that anything done to conduct the election against the decision of the court that all parties should maintain status quo ante, amounts to a nullity

The Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission, Ngo Martins-Yellow, and the 23 local government caretaker committee chairmen are also alleged to be secretly employing thousands of persons to swell the number of civil servants in government employ and local councils so that the incoming PDP government will battle with the alarming wage bill

The PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam, noted that inasmuch as it is normal and democratic for election results to be challenged justifiably, it finds the Rivers APC’s case as not yielding any positive result, as they do not have any authentic evidence to justify their claims of the exercises being compromised by the Independent National Electoral Commission officials, the security agencies and the PDP in the state
