As muslims all over the world observe the Ramadan, the All Progressives Congress in Niger State on Sunday begged Muslims in the country to seek Allah’s mercy as well the success of the party’s government at all levels.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Jonathan Vatsa, made available to newsmen in Minna, the party called on all well meaning Nigerlites to use the period to rededicate themselves and pray for the state.
Vatsa said: “There is need to pray for the APC formed government to have the divine favour to continue to deliver its best to the people of the state.”
The party urged Muslims to draw lessons from the period of Ramadan and know that in all things all men are equal before Allah SWT, which makes it more demanding for all to seek forgiveness and forgive others.
Vatsa stated that the lessons inherent in the Ramadan season show the equality in human existence because every Muslim – old, young, rich and poor – are tasting what others are tasting.
He however enjoined all Muslims to use the period to build the spirit of tolerance, perseverance and maintain peaceful co-existence and harmony for the agents of change in charge of the state to deliver the real dividends of democracy to the people.
The statement added: “We call on all Muslims Umma to join hands in this period to pray for the success of the APC government in the Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello led administration for guidance and direction.”
The party also called on the people to use the period to sustain charity works and increase all deeds that will enhance their chances of getting the desired reward as enshrined in the holy book of Quran and the Hadith.
