In a bid to resolve the lingering crisis in the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari late on Wednesday met Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and members of his group at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which started around 9:45pm, ended at about 11pm.
It was held at the First Lady’s Wing of the Villa and attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Gbajabiamila, who was endorsed as the APC’s choice for the position of the speaker of the House of Representatives lost to Hon. Yakubu Dogara in the power play in the House.
He led a strong 30-man delegation, including Hon. Mohammed Monguno, who was defeated in the race for the Deputy Speaker of the House, to the meeting with Buhari and Osinbajo.
The only Senator at the meeting was Abu Ibrahim, representing Katsina South Senatorial District.
