The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Peter Kisira, has implored Nigerians to be tolerant, spiritually matured and morally upright in order to build an egalitarian society.
Kisira made the call at the thanksgiving service organised for the state’s 2016 pilgrims to Israel, Rome and Greece.
It was held at Calvary Baptist Church, Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin.
Kisira said: “A peaceful, harmonious and spiritually sound society is needed to ensure peace, progress, development and prosperity in all ramification across the nation.
“I wish to commend the state’s pilgrims for their conduct and spiritual upliftment while in the Holy Land.
“I urge you all not to relent in projecting the gospel and Kwara State positively.
“From reports reaching me on this year’s pilgrimage, your conduct and spirituality while in the Holy Land is very commendable.
“I want to inform you that the state government is very proud of you all.
“You are indeed an excellent group.
“Please keep it up.”
Kisira urged the pilgrims to be shining examples to others to justify their huge expenditure and self-sacrifice on the pilgrimage.
Kisira called on Christians who were yet to undergo the exercise to pray for it, desire it and work toward it.
He said: “All who have come to share in the joy of today, I declare in the name of the Lord that it will soon be your turn.”
Kisira commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for his support toward the successful execution of the 2016 exercise.
In his exhortation, Bishop Israel Amoo called on the pilgrims to focus their attention on Jesus Christ and be the light to positively touch the lives of others.
