The Zimbabwe Football Association has terminated the contract of head coach Calisto Pasuwa.
Pasuwa, who had earlier hinted on stepping aside before rescinding his decision, becomes the third coach of the teams that featured in the Africa Cup of Nations to quit.
He managed to get a point in the Nations Cup after holding favourites Algeria 2-2 before losing 2-0 and 4-2 to Senegal and Tunisia respectively
In a letter sent to Pasuwa on Wednesday, ZIFA acting General Secretary, Joseph Mamutse, wrote: “The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to advise that after examining the High Performance Committee review report ,we hereby advise that ZIFA will terminate with effect from the 28th of February 2017 when the contract expires and would expect you to comply with necessary requirements as well as section 5.2 of the contract.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the services you rendered during the period as national team coach.”
