The Zamfara State Government has donated food items and cash to families of three All Progressives Congress local government chairmen from the state who died on Friday as a result of auto crash in Saudi Arabia.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the deceased died in the early hours of Friday in a motor accident on their way from Makkah to Madina.
The deceased were Alhaji Jafaru Gidan Sambo, APC Chairman, Kaura-Namoda Local Government; Alhaji Mudi Mallamawa, APC Chairman, Shinkafi Local Government; and Alhaji Abdullahi Ruwan-Dorawa of Maru Local Government.
The state APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman, presented the donation on behalf of the state government to the victims’ families in Kaura-Namoda, Shinkafi and Ruwan-Dorowa towns on Saturday.
NAN reports that each of the deceased families received N2 million and 50 bags of assorted grains.
“On behalf of Governor Abdul’aziz Yari, I am presenting this assistance to you to symphatize with you over this great loss,” Liman said.
Liman urged families of the deceased party chairmen to consider their death as a test from Allah, and urged them to continue to pray to Almighty Allah to grant them Aljannah Firdausi (The highest Paradise).
He described their death as a great loss not only to their families, but to APC, Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
