The Christian Association of Nigeria in Kano State has appealed to its members to assist orphans and indigents during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The CAN Chairman, Rev. Adeyemo Samuel, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Kano city.
Samuel noted that it was not everyone that could afford to feed their families, therefore, CAN used part of what it had to assist people that were in need.
“Hence, we are also appealing to those that have enough to please give to those that cannot afford.
“Let us share our food, wealth, joy, love and peace with our neighbours so that they can also feel among. When we do this, we put smiles on their faces and God will reward us,” he said.
Samuel called on Christians to redouble their efforts in praying for the peace of the nation, especially for an end to insecurity in the country.
He called on CAN members to always abide by the COVID-19 protocols during the festivities to avoid the spread of the pandemic.
The CAN Chairman urged members to remain in peace with one another so that they would live in holiness.
