Actor Yomi Fabiyi has been called out over his new movie, titled: “Oko Iyabo.”
He was accused of making a movie about the alleged rape case involving Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, and using real names of those involved in the case.
Fabiyi was also accused of making it look like the minor was having an affair with Baba Ijesha, who is facing trial for child molestation and sexual abuse.
Fabiyi also shared a post to address those he claimed are dropping abuses and threats on promotional posts about the controversial movie.
His post read: “If you know you know.
“What an irony, those enjoying ‘INFAMY’ also regard themselves as celebrities and public figures with positive influence and impact, disgusting.
“You are who you follow, copy, read from or listen to online or offline.
“Check yourself, can you wish your child inherit such passion from you with regards to who you follow or get addicted to online?
“Little did you know kids observe and they will inherit that legacy from you.
“Re-arrange your philosophies now, not too late.
“Stop getting addicted to nonsense and evil in the name of social media or relieving pressure.
“You become more toxic and demonic.
“Witchcraft is not by sucking blood.
“Don’t create fake accounts to indulge such dirts.
“Whoever or Whatever is telling you, I will FINISH YOMI and he will never amount to anything again is your unknown enemy, run from them.
“Aja alaseju lo ma n lepa ekun. Caveat!
“‘OKO IYABO MOVI’” now showing on OLEKU TV on YouTube.
“A must watch for every parent.
“Written & Produced by: Yomi Fabiyi.”
Meanwhile, the video has been taken down by YouTube after Nigerians slammed Fabiyi and others who took part in the project.
Actress Tonto Dikeh and Mercy Aigbe also weighed in and asked people to report the video on YouTube.
Iyabo Ojo also asked the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria to take action.
Fabiyi also took to Instagram to say he was the one who asked that the video be pulled down.
However, he insisted that the movie has a good story line and is meant to “inject right values, correct ills and educate”.
Also, TAMPAN has now summoned Fabiyi as regards his controversial movie.
TAMPAN’s Director of Research and Documentation, Yemi Amodu, said Fabiyi was invited because the movie has sparked off another round of dissension between the group and the public.
TAMPAN further said the controversy the subject matter of the movie has generated is against its ethics and virtue.
The statement read: “The TAMPAN Committee on Ethics, Conflict and Resolution wishes to inform the general public that the association has summoned Mr. Yomi Fabiyi who is the Producer/Director of the controversial film titled “OKO IYABO” to appear before it on Thursday 11th July 2021.
“This invitation becomes very necessary because of the controversy that the subject matter of his film has generated which is against our ethic and virtue.
“Despite that, we realize that the film has sparked off another round of dissension between TAMPAN and the public; this is unacceptable to us and unsuitable to what we represent.
“We hereby implore the general public and the parties concerned to please exercise patience as our eminent association is on top of this issue and will certainly ensure fairness and justice.”
