The Vice Chairman of Kogi State Football Association, Hassan Wada, says the state-owned clubs – Kogi United and Confluence Queens – will be reorganized following the decision of the Chairman, Abdul Adama, to quit his post on Wednesday.
Wada, who is also the son of the state Governor, Captain Idris Wada, said necessary steps will be taken to ensure the state clubs remain focused on achieving their targets.
He noted that the exit of Adama will not dent the clubs’ aspirations.
He said: “Well, it was unexpected (Adama’s resignation) but we have to immediately reorganize ourselves.
“What is key is stability, focus and hardwork.”
On the disappointing ouster of Kogi United from the 2015 Federation Cup for the first time in over nine years, Wada said: “Such is football and could happen to any team.”
Ahead of the new Nigeria National League season, which kicks-off on April 19, the Kogi State-born football administrator confidently assured the people of the state: “Kogi United will be ready and will surely do well.”
