Warri Wolves player drops Rangers’ ambition

Lazarus Chuckwu, who alongside Chigozie Agbim, Sunday Mba and Uruemu Egbeta left Warri Wolves at the end of last season in a bid to join Rangers International, has retraced his steps by returning to the club with a pledge to play his way back into the heart of the fans.
According to the Media Officer of the Club, Etu Moses, Chuckwu has come back to the club with a promise not to betray it again and has started training with others under the watchful eyes of Coach Solomon Ogbeide.
Moses said: “Lazarus Chuckwu has indeed returned to Warri Wolves when the Flying Antelopes could not do anything to help his aspirations.
“I am sure they deceived him just like others, all in the name of playing CAF Champions League and when he discovered they could not help his cause but kept in their camp, he retraced his steps and he has started training with us.
“We have decided to take him back because we are human beings.
“Anybody could be misled.
“So, we have asked him to look well in future before taking any decision.
“We are going to register him and I think as from Week Nine, he should be ready to play but that depends on the coach.
“He has to work hard to be able to get a shirt because those in his position are equally good.”
On the other players, Etu said: “Uruemu Egbeta has also indicated interest to come back but with a clause to play in the league for us and CAF Champions league for Rangers and we told him pointblank that we cannot do that.”
Etu however said they are still waiting for Rangers to come and clear Chigozie Agbim while Sunday Mba can only help himself if he behaves like a prodigal son and returns home.
Moses said: “Egbeta has also indicated interest but we refused to agree with his request to play league for us and CAF Champions league for Rangers.
“If they are interested in him and if they value him, they should look for money to clear him.
“As for Chigozie Agbim, no doubt he is a good goalkeeper, but we may not take him back because we have a better one in Okiemute Odah, who has shown in the matches he kept that he is a top keeper.
“We are also waiting for Rangers to come and clear him.
“On Sunday Mba, the issue rests squarely on him.
“He should behave like a prodigal son and we will look into his case.”
