Veteran Nigerian filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, who is fondly referred to as TK, was a year older on Thursday.
Born that day back in 1948, the CEO of top movie outfit, Mainframe Productions, is an acclaimed storyteller, director, cinematographer, photographer and producer.
In a career spanning over four decades, TK has specialised in producing movies that promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and have a root in documentation, archiving, education, entertainment and promotion of the culture.
He is also known for his love of adaptation of literary materials into movies as most of his works have followed that style of filmmaking.
Award-winning films from his production outfit include Ko se Gbe, Oleku, Thunder Bolt, The Narrow Path, White handkerchief, Maami, and most recently, Dazzling Mirage and the lay movie, Yeepa!
TK holds a Diploma in the Art and Technique of Filmmaking from the London International Film School and is considered an icon in the African filmmaking circles.
