Uduaghan to Pat Utomi: Elections are not won on social media

The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has told renowned Economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, that elections are not won on the social media.
Rather, Uduaghan advised the founder of the Lagos Business School to return to the grassroots to achieve his ambition of becoming the next governor of Delta State.
He said as far as he was concerned, he was through with governing Delta State as governor.
These were contained in a post written in pidgin English in which Uduaghan did not mention Utomi’s name on his Facebook page.
Uduaghan and Utomi had been engaged a media war in the last two weeks.
Utomi fired the first shot in which he said at a political gathering that past governors of the state, including Uduaghan, had performed woefully.
He said the incumbent, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, was only continuing in their legacy, promising that if elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, he would better the lots of the people.
Reacting at a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party over the weekend in Asaba, Delta State, Uduaghan said with the performance of Utomi based on projects he promised to execute in the state, including the Silicon Valley, his worth as a political leader is not above that of a councillor.
He therefore advised Utomi to start his political voyage by contesting for a councilorship seat.
But Utomi also fired back.
He said a councillor would have performed better than Uduaghan as a governor.
This led to Uduaghan’s reaction on his Facebook wall on Tuesday.
Reacting in pidgin English, which is a well entrenched form of communication in Delta State, especially in the Warri axis where he hails from, Uduaghan wrote:
I don talk wetin I wan talk finish. I don move on.
Who get ear make e hear.
Make una face how una go fit win election for ground.
Nor be for big grammar or social media.
Nor waste your time for my matter.
Who say na me e dey find, go 1st learn how to close door against smoke.
I nor wan be Governor again.
