This commendation was contained in a press release by Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, Deputy Director, Media and Publicity Committee, Delta State PDP Campaign Council, in recognition and appreciation of the decision of the former Governor, not only in graciously hosting the Delta South PDP stakeholders meeting at his residence, but in his unequivocal pledge and promise to throw his considerable political weight, and immense personal support behind the ambitions of all PDP candidates in the forthcoming 2023 elections, especially Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the PDP.

However, if his intendment was to ridicule his colleagues, he obviously got more than he bargained for. He got a short shrift. Put differently, he got his hand stuck in the fire. Reason is simple. Wike is not the leader of the Niger Delta region. He’s not also the constitutional ombudsman to superintend the region. Chief of all, he’s not the poster face of good governance for the Niger Delta states or even for Nigeria.

Could it be as a result of genuine interest in the economic well-being of citizens that informs the rush to establish aerodromes by state governors and wealthy individuals? What is the rationale for building airports that are not economically viable and which will drain the pint-sized revenue accruable to the state?

The governor in a message by his Chief Press Secretary,  Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba on Thursday, lauded Atiku for his remarkable commitment to the unity and progress of the nation through his outstanding economic and political activities.
