The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has advised political office holders to be careful how they deploy their powers.
Uduaghan said this has become imperative in view of the fact that power, especially political power, is transient.
The governor, who spoke at a thanksgiving service to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day in Abraka, Delta State, said that even a governor who has enormous power to do a lot of things, the maximum in office is two terms of four years each.
He said as a governor who has the right to order the demolition of houses, approve or disapprove of death sentences passed by courts, he has learnt that proper discretion must be put to use in order to get the best out of life.
Uduaghan also canvassed for peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians, especially the people of Delta State.
He said without peace, nothing could be achieved, adding that Delta State is destined for greatness.
