Two killed in Lagos supremacy battle, 75 arrested + videos

Two persons have been confirmed killed by the police in what has been described as a supremacy battle in Lagos State.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed the development, said no fewer than 75 persons have been arrested.
The supremacy battle took place in Surulere Area of the state over two days.
Elkana said the first sign of trouble came when the police on Sunday at about 11:41am received a distress call that there was a gunshot at Pako, Aguda Canal.
He said on getting to the scene, the Police found the corpse of one 27-year-old Alagodo, a follower of one Eluku, who is currently in prison over violent crimes.
He said the following day at about 8:30am, some hoodlums from Ijesha, in what looks liked a revenge mission, stormed Aguda in large numbers with cutlasses, bottles and stone and other dangerous weapons.
The hoodlums destroyed about 22 shops and vandalised some vehicles.
Some hoodlums from Aguda equally reacted.
One of the hoodlums from Aguda, Timileyin Odulana, was injured by the hoodlums from Ijesha.
He was rushed to Military Hospital, Yaba, were he was confirmed dead.
Elkana said: “Police teams from the Special Strike Force on Social Miscreants, Rapid Response Squad, Area C Command Surulere, Aguda and Ijesha Divisions were mobilised to the scene.
“The situation was brought under control. Seventy five suspects from both sides were arrested.
“Investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to Court.
“Meanwhile the Command has intensified patrols and surveillance within the affected areas.”
