Ahead of the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress, a now-deleted poll conducted by Television Continental, a Nigeria-based broadcast outlet, has tipped Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) as the favourite for the party’s ticket.
TVC is believed to owned by one of the frontline presidential aspirants of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
It was gathered that the television station, on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday, conducted an APC primary-themed poll, asking: “Now that Atiku (Abubakar) has emerged as PDP (Peoples Democratic Party_ presidential candidate, who should APC field as its flag-bearer?”
Rotimi Amaechi, immediate past Minister of Transportation; Prof. Osinbajo; incumbent Senate President Ahmed Lawan; and Tinubu were listed.
It was discovered that after 1,721 people had voted, with Osinbajo leading with 43 per cent of votes cast, followed by Tinubu with 40 per cent, Amaechi with 8 per cent and Lawan with 9 per cent, the tweet was deleted.
In related news, a Twitter handle: @BiggDaaddyy1, known to be a dogged follower of the Tinubu camp and who was simultaneously hosting a Twitter space, had to delete his poll, which asked: “Refusing Bola Tinubu APC ticket is a betrayal; YES or NO?”
A total of 1,763 people voted; 73 voted NO and only 27 per cent voted YES.
