Fernando Torres continued his revival under Jose Mourinho as he tapped home in the final minute to give Chelsea an invaluable 2-1 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Torres was gifted the winner by a calamitous mix-up between Matija Nastasic and Joe Hart, which saw the defender head past the onrushing keeper into the path of the striker.
Chelsea took the lead through Schurrle before the visitors hit back through Aguero.
But it was Torres who had the final say with the all-important winner.
After a less than exciting first half an hour, the game burst into life after 30 minutes with Torres at the heart of everything.
The Spaniard collected the ball on the left and skipped past Martin Demichelis before giving Joe Hart the eyes and smashing an effort off the angle of bar and post from the edge of the box as the Blues went in ahead at the break.
A free kick on the corner of the box, David Silva clipped in a superb ball that was met by Javier Garcia but he headed straight at Cech when he really should have done better.
The game slightly petered out after this with both sides seemingly settling for a draw.
That was until the final minute when Torres nipped in for the winner.
A long hopeful ball forward from John Terry was horribly misjudged by Nastasic and Joe Hart, with the defender heading past the onrushing keeper to allow Torres race clear and tap in from three yards to give his side the three points.
