Niger Tornadoes Football club of Minna on Saturday thrashed visiting Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club of Dutse 4-0 in the Week 15 encounter of the ongoing Nigeria National League.
Adeleye Samson, wearing jersey number 9 for Tornadoes, scored the opening goal of the game for his team with a header to convert a free kick taking by his teammate within the goal area of the visiting team, 33 minutes into the first half.
The goal threw fans into jubilant mood at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna.
The second goal for the home team was a penalty kick awarded by the referee, Achimi David, which Samson converted in the 39th minute.
The first half of the game ended 2-0 in favour of Tornadoes as the home team mounted pressure on the visitors who grappled with poor ball control.
Niger Tornadoes FC got their third goal through Yahaya Yusuf, spotting jersey number 35.
It was from an unexpected shot from the goal area of the Golden Stars, three minutes into the second half.
Samson again scored the fourth goal for the home side in the 15th minute of the second half by volleying the ball pass the goalkeeper for the visiting team as he tried unsuccessfully to save the ball in his goal area.
