The flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has had a short meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Tinubu was accompanied to the meeting in Abuja on Tuesday night by his running mate, Senator Kassim Shetimma.

Also at the meeting were five Governors elected on the platform of the APC.

However, the meeting, which was brief, had no outcome, whether officially or in interactions with newsmen.

Tinubu only told newsmen he was on a courtesy visit to Jonathan as a leader and one of the critical stakeholders in the Nigerian project, adding that he told the former president of his ambition and sought his support.

Governors who accompanied Tinubu and Shettima were Simon Lalong of Plateau State, who is also the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; Bello Matawale of Zamfara State; Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State; and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.
