The Taraba State Government has connected the National Youth Service Corps camp in the state to the national electricity grid to enable the corps members undertake their orientation course comfortably.
Emmanuel Attah, the state NYSC coordinator, said this at the swearing-in- ceremony of the 2016 Batch ‘B’ orientation camp on Monday in Jalingo.
Attah noted that the gesture would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the corps members during the orientation course in the state.
The coordinator urged the 2,707 corps members posted to the state to make judicious use of the skills acquisition trainings meant for them by the Federal Government.
According to him, the trainings are aimed at making them employers of labour, instead of leaving the service year as job seekers.
Governor Darius Ishaku told the corps members that the NYSC offered a lot of opportunities to the youths to attain greatness in life.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Haruna Manu, Ishaku said that the state was a peaceful place for them to achieve all their dreams.
He urged them to support his efforts at promoting peaceful coexistence during the course and the entire service year.
