The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Shehu, told newsmen in Gusau on Monday that the children were abducted after the gunmen invaded the lawmaker’s home village at Gora in Maradun Local Government.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Muhammad Shehu, disclosed this in a statement issued in Gusau on Friday.
Shehu said a police team arrested the three-man gang of suspected kidnappers while on patrol along Ruwan-Dawa village of Dansadau Emirate in Maru Local Government Area of the state.
In the analysis out of the 42,429 candidates that sat for the examinations, 32,917 candidates, representing 77.58 per cent, scored five credits and above in various subjects.
The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the state’s Head of Service, Malam Mujitaba Isah, in Gusau on Monday.
Before their arrest, the syndicate members had their network covering Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Zamfara States, where they had robbed several persons.
Shehu said the police team was on patrol between kuyambana and Katamfawa villages in Bukkuyum Local Government Area on Tuesday when a group of armed bandits was discovered.
Abdullahi Jibo, the Deputy Director Fire Prevention and Public Enlightenment, made the confirmation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau.
He said the arrest was part of the command’s sustained efforts to rid the state of banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other criminal activities.
Marafa, who made the allegation through a Point of Order on Senate floor, said Yari has no right to stop anybody’s confirmation because the Senate is not his rubber stamp.
Senator Marafa, under Order 127 of the Senate Rules, explained that a petition by Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara against Mahmoud, in which he said he was not from Zamfara, was a “political witch-hunt”.
