The groups also challenged Mohammed to publish the list of the NGOs he alleged are on the pay roll of foreign agents, to cause disaffection in Nigeria.

The Federal Government’s objection, read in part: “Particulars: The subject matter of the SERAP suit relates to the indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria. This is not in any way connected to any Nigerian or SERAP. Individual user’s Twitter accounts are not suspended.”
In a statement last week, Minister of information and Tourism, Lai Mohammed had announced the indefinite suspension of Twitter’s operations in Nigeria.
Kumuyi said this on Twitter while reacting to the suspension of the social media platform by the Federal Government and a threat by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, that Nigerians still using Twitter would be prosecuted.
The order was contained in a statement by Malami’s spokesman, Dr. Umar Jubrilu Gwandu, on Saturday.
The Federal Government had on Friday announced the ban of Twitter in Nigeria for deleting a tweet on the Nigerian Civil War by President Buhari.
