The United Bank for Africa Chairman is no stranger to the promotion of global entrepreneurs— Elumelu’s foundation recently launched the $100 million Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme, which aims to assist in growing 10,000 start-up companies across the African continent over the next 10 years
Over 20,000 African entrepreneurs from 52 countries applied to the programme, representing the creativity and potential on display across the continent
Elumelu has been invited to speak on several high-level panels and will host key events during the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, themed: “The New Global Context
According to him, the organisation will give out $10,000 dollars each to 1,000 entrepreneurs in Africa in 2015, adding that it had already received over 3,000 applications to that effect
The flagship entrepreneurship programme from the Tony Elumelu Foundation opens its application portal for entries at 12:01am WAT on January 1, 2015 and will continue to accept applications until midnight WAT on March 1, 2015
The award is given to the company which demonstrates the highest degree of compliance with the rules and regulations of disclosure obligations to the Nigerian Stock Exchange in the year under review
