Usman’s last fight was an eight-round national featherweight challenge bout at GOtv Boxing Night 19 in July, where he was comprehensively defeated by Taiwo ‘Esepo’ Agbaje, who was also adjudged as the best boxer on the night.
He was awarded the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and a cash prize of N1million after being adjudged the best by journalists in attendance.
The nine-bout show will have in action some of the biggest names on the domestic boxing scene and two all-female bouts.
Ahead of their impending clash, former African Boxing Union featherweight champion, Waidi “Skoro” Usman, and his next opponent, Taiwo “Esepo” Agbaje, the national champion, have launched a war of words. Both boxers are due to clash in a national featherweight challenge contest at GOtv Boxing Night 19, scheduled to hold on 14 July at the Indooor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos.
The little known lightweight boxer kept the capacity crowd at the edge of their seats with his all-action style that saw him defeat Tope “TP Rock” Musa in a challenge contest.
