He said the dispute was all about one Chinese entity against another Chinese concern.

Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Ogun West in the 2023 general election, in a statement he issued on Sunday, said: ”My attention has been drawn to reports credited to a statement made at the 50th anniversary of Abeokuta Club by Senator Ibikunle Amosun, erstwhile governor of Ogun State and APC senator representing Ogun Central, that the 2019 general election that saw the emergence of Prince Dapo Abiodun as the Ogun State governor was rigged and he is going to work against Prince Abiodun’s re-election in 2023.
In his self-conceited effort to appear larger-than-life and further capture the attention of the APC Presidential Flagbearer— Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu— Senator Amosun had a welcome rally that took place at the Alake palace pavilion in Abeokuta where he denigrated both the past and present leaders of Ogun State before his rented crowd. He said, “In this Ogun State, since 1999–I am on camera, except for Baba Olusegun Obasanjo, I am not talking of pre-1999– no human being, dead or alive, has served Ogun State the way I have served. I have done 8 years as your governor, by next year it will be my 8th year in the Senate. Just between 1999 and now, I have served Ogun State with 15 years of my lifetime.” Every rational human would cringe on hearing such statement as it speaks volume of Amosun’s bloated ego, his level of rapacity— as millennials will say, only you 8 years as Governor and 8th year in the senate— and his utter shamelessness for by pontificating about the number of years he has spent in power without a long list of commendable achievements but empty political rhetoric. Thus, it would be appropriate to say that Amosun had served himself and his stooges all the years he used in power.
The students, under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC) and the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), said the eight-year administration of Amosun should be investigated, especially in view of alleged fraudulent awards of contracts and abandonment of multi-billion naira model schools across the state.
While some analysts saw Senator Amosun as a pretender rather than a contender, some described him as a spoiler.
Amosun declared his intention to run a few minutes past 1:00 pm at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Senator Amosun in a letter of invitation and notification of declaration personally signed by him indicated that he has been blessed by God to serve as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between 2003 and 2007 and as a two-term Governor of Ogun State between 2011 and 2019.
This was made known in a letter read on the floor of the Senate at the plenary session by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
Amosun, who at present represents Ogun Central Senatorial District, is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.
The upper chamber also retained a closed ballot system of voting for the election of the President of the Senate and the Deputy.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who made the request during the 2022 budget defence of the Commission, vowed to look into what is going on in the organization that will make the annual emoluments for staff to cost N8bn.
The incident occurred at the Ake Palace Ground, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, venue of a factional congress.
The meeting was called for the South West political leaders to take a joint position on the review of the 1999 Constitution.
