The women protesters came to express anger over the accusation of sexual harassment made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The event, which involved the laying of wreaths at the National Arcade in Abuja, was the climax of activities for the 2025 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day (AFCRD).

According to the Senate, one year is too short for the President’s economic and social policies to take root and yield desired results.

Akpabio made this known while addressing the plenary in Abuja on Wednesday.

The President of the Senate gave the charge when the APC state chairmen paid him a visit in Abuja on Sunday.

Balarabe, who was the second nominee to be screened after Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim, collapsed more than 15 minutes into his screening exercise at the Senate plenary on Wednesday.

The Senate also confirmed the duo of Dr. Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande who were nominated as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively.

Gbajagbiamila was accompanied to the Red Chamber by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Hassan Hadejia.

Recall that former President Muhammadu Buhari had, towards the tail end of his administration, forwarded the same request to the 9th Senate in May.
