The Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer of the state, Prof. Shehu Iya of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, made the announcement at the state collation center in Jalingo.

The defectors, including local government and ward officials, had earlier left the APC and followed the former Minister of Women Affairs, Sen. Aisha Alhassan, to the UDP.
Abubakar made the appeal on Wednesday in Jalingo, while reacting to his victory.
The Spokesman for the aggrieved aspirants, Chief David Kente, who made the call at a news conference in Jalingo, described the exercise as “a sham”.
