A statement signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media to the State PDP Chairman, Felix Obuah, says the Governor’s action has further confirmed that gathering the newly recruited teachers at the liberation stadium under the guise of issuing them employment letters, and later planned to use them to protest against the President of Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan has vindicated the position of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police

Describing the lawmaker’s decision not to be cajoled into the APC as wise, far-sighted and courageous, the PDP in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the State Chairman, Jerry Needam said this has confirmed that Hon Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani, the Andonis, the entire State legislators and many others in the state are not happy and willing to leave the ruling PDP and indeed, cannot be coerced by Amaechi into the APC

The statement, by Jerry Needam, the Special Adviser on Media to the state Chairman of the PDP, Felix Obuah, said Amaechi should have the boldness to pull out of the negotiations instead of deceiving and betraying the processes and the genuine intentions of Jonathan and the PDP

According to the Assembly, the allegations were made by the Obio/Akpor stakeholders from the 17 wards of the local government area. It explained that the petition was weighty and required a thorough investigation which would require the suspension of the accused for proper investigation to take place. The assembly therefore added that the suspension was pending the outcome of the investigation
