It would be the first in a series by the Commission in line with its focus on prioritising regulations to meet timelines in the PIA.

The Senate gave the directive when Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, the Commission’s Chief Executive of NUPRC, the successor of Department of Petroleum Resources(DPR) under Petroleum Industry Act(PIA) before the lawmakers during an interactive session with the senate committee on revenue losses in the maritime sector.

The group, made up of 24 indigenous oil and gas companies, also pledged to support the smooth implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act to attract more investment to the sector.
