MURIC had last week in a statement by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, threatened to drag Falz to court over his latest video: “This is Nigeria.”
The group gave their commendation in a statement on Thursday signed by the director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola.
The group also claimed that “the video manifests ethnic bias against Fulanis while it ignored the criminal activities of ethnic militia of the Middle Belt who have also massacred Fulanis and rustled their cattle in their thousands. It is a hate video. This video has the potential of causing religious crisis of unprecedented dimension. It is an assault on the self-dignity of every Muslim. It is freedom of expression gone haywire.”
This followed a parallel drawn by the group over the latest video released by Falz, titled: “This is Nigeria.”
The Director of MURIC, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, made the commendation in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja.
The statement said: “Children around the world are being celebrated today, Sunday 27th May, 2018. However, more than ten million al-majiri children face exposure to illiteracy, disease, hunger, starvation, homelessness and child abuse.
